A Family Company

Dreamspace is a family business located in the beautiful northern rivers of NSW.
We started business in 1995 to become Australia’s leading provider of quality mosquito nets and bed canopies. We worked with a variety of retail outlets wanting to sell our products and then developed a website. The universal nature of the internet meant that we began to get inquiries from customers wanting quality mosquito nets and bed canopies from all around the world. We subsequently developed an international bed canopy mosquito net site, and a substantial amount of our trade is from overseas.

The Silk Road

Our journey along the Silk Road began 8 years ago with the making of a simple silken bed canopy and from our first contact with this amazing and enticing fabric we became converts to the silk revolution.

5000 years ago the goddess of silk, the empress Xiling Shi plucked a cocoon from a mulberry tree while walking in her Temple garden. The cocoon fell from her hand into her tea cup and to her amazement a strong white thread unraveled. Silk was reserved for emperors, then prized and traded around the world, Julius Caesar allowed only wealthy nobles to wear silk and King Solomon knew silk as a treasure of Babylon.

Today silk is an ancient treasure that is increasingly relevant to our modern world.

Silk is the perfect sleeping companion as its natural attributes of warmth; hypoallergenic nature and legendary silken softness, make silk bedding the natural choice.

We Love Silk

We love silk. We sleep with silk quilts and silk blankets, rest on silk pillow slips and relax under a luxurious silken bed canopy. We have become bewitched by the feel and touch of silk and enjoy the health giving benefits of silk in our everyday lives. I don’t want to preach about silk and its wonderful qualities but silk is an integral part of our lives and we want to share its benefits with as many people as possible.

We travel to China and source only the best quality silk. We are partnered with a leading manufacturer of silk products and have personally met with the many extended families that are responsible for making our silk bedding. All our silk products are trialed and tested here in Australia so that the quality of our products is guaranteed.

We continue to refine and develop products for the Australian public and are actively engaged in sourcing an extended range of silk bedding and fabrics.

Silk is an organic and natural fibre and our silk products are made without the use of chemicals, dyes or other nasties.

Our home, office, warehouse and dispatch rooms are all powered by solar energy. We collect our own rain water, grow and eat organic veggies and care about the environment and this beautiful planet. We are not a faceless corporation but real people who believe in what we do and support our products with service. We believe in business where “everyone wins” ethic, from the maker to the user, it is important that everyone is happy. 

We love silk. It has cast its magic spell upon us and everyday I wake up grateful to have slept with silk. However if you are contemplating inviting silk into you life please be aware it is very addictive!
