How do I care for my Silk Bed Linen?

• Silk fibres are durable and stronger than other natural fibres; however Silk does lose strength temporarily when it becomes wet. 
• Use a gentle detergent that does not contain enzymes, brighteners or bleaches.  Sonett Olive Washing Liquid for Wool and Silk is available to purchase from our website.  This washing liquid is extremely mild and gentle to your skin, and therefore suitable for many people suffering from allergies.  Alternatively you can use products such as Earth Choice Wool & Delicate Wash or Australian Pure Wool Wash. 
  
  Shampoo can also be used on your Silk Bed Linen.  Ensure the shampoo is alkaline free and that it does not contain ingredients such as wax and petroleum, or their derivatives, as these products will leave residue on your silk and may cause oily spots.
  
  A brittle texture and a matt finish are indicators of alkali damage.  This can be minimised by rinsing with vinegar.
  
• Avoid drying your Silk in direct sunlight as this can damage the fibres and cause the fabric to discolour.
• 1/4  cup of white vinegar can be added to a clean rinse.  Ensure the vinegar is completely rinsed out on a final rinse. This will neutralise any soap residue and restore the silk's natural lustre.
• HAND WASHING. Silk bed linen can be handwashed in lukewarm or cold water using a mild soap or a gentle shampoo. Rinse well.
• MACHINE WASHING. Silk bed linen can be washed on the delicate cycle of the washing machine in cool or lukewarm (up to 40 degrees) water using a mild soap or gentle shampoo. Gently spin.
• Silk dries quickly.  If possible, dry Silk naturally, away from direct sunlight.  Silk will suffer from the friction and lack of humidity in a clothes dryer. Using a clothes dryer is not recommended.  When still damp, coll iron with gentle steam on reverse side of sheets.
  
  

Take Care
Rough skin on feet, broken or jagged nails and even strong hair on legs can cause wear and tear and pull threads on Silk Sheets, which leads to pilling.  We are not responsible for the wear and tear of your sheets should this occur.

Protein based stains such as blood can be removed by sprinkling with Baking Powder, moistening with water and gently wiping clean.

How do I care for my Silk Quilt?

We recommend regular airing of your silk quilt and dry cleaning if necessary. Please keep your silk out of direct sunlight as sunlight damages the natural fibres.

What is our Silk Bed Linen warranty?

Dreamspace guarantees the workmanship of our silk bed linen for a period of one year.  The guarantee does not cover normal wear, tear and product abuse by the purchaser.  Also the guarantee is void if the product is not properly laundered. 

How warm is my quilt?

Our quilts are similar in warmth to woollen quilts of 250gsm and have a nominal warmth of 2 ½ blankets. A single quilt is ideal for between seasons and by adding a second you have a perfect combination for winter sleeping. The thermal resistance is 4.7. This indicates that it is ideal for most people, both men and women between the heat of summer and the cold of winter. By adding a second quilt, the tog (thermal gradient) rating becomes 8.1. This fits perfectly into the range of 7, where men are comfortable in winter, and 9, where women are comfortable in winter. The warmth to weight ratio is 90 and similar to wool, however silk has a superior feel and drape.

Dreamspace guarantees the workmanship of our silk filled quilts for a period of five years. The guarantee does not cover normal wear, tear and product abuse by the purchaser. Also, the guarantee is void if the product is not used with a quilt cover or properly cleaned.

How warm is my blanket?

Our luxurious pure silk blankets are as warm as wool but without the stiffness of wool. They are a delight to hold against your skin and have a thermal resistance of 1.3 and warmth to weight ratio of 31.

What is our silk blanket warranty?

Fast shipping!

Most products will be shipped within 24 hours by Australia Post eParcel system.  Each parcel carries with it a barcode, which is scanned during the delivery process so you can track exactly where your parcel is.  To track the status of your parcel click http://auspost.com.au/track/ The parcel will be delivered to your door where you will be required to sign for it.

If no one is home, a card will be left advising which post office the parcel is left at and you can then collect it.  If a card has not been left, you can use the eParcel website to determine if it has arrived at your local Australia Post Office where you can simply go and collect it.

You will receive your parcel within 3 -7 working days after shipment, depending where you live. Should there be any delay in sending out your order, we will contact you - please ensure your phone number is on your order form.

TNT courier service

We also offer an express courier service if express delivery is required. There is an added freight charge for this service. Please contact us directly if you want an overnight service. Our office and warehouse is situated in Northern NSW and overnight deliverry is not possible.

International Orders:

Express post international

Postal service offering priority handling, basic tracking and signature on delivery (subject to designated countries). Please allow 7-10 working days for delivery. A card will be left in your letterbox. Please respond immedately to this card. We are not responsible for any unclaimed items.

Insured airmail delivery.

Basic Air Postal Service. Parcels are delivered to your local Post Office. Please allow 7 working days for delivery. Insurance ensures any lost articles can be claimed, however there is often a delay in processing claims of up to 3 months.

Returned item

Returns are accepted by us, providing you contact us within 7 days of recieving the goods. Returned items are to be sent to: Dreamspace, 3933 Kyogle Road, Lillian Rock NSW 2480 Australia. We will replace faulty product with new product or if requested refund the purchase price only of your goods. We do not refund postage or freight costs. Upon receipt of returned item, we will issue a refund.

Unclaimed parcels

We refund your money on unclaimed parcels less any costs incurred by us.
